EMERGENCY SHELTER
This
housing resource serve as a large part of our
special housing four major areas. In 2006 the agency
served a total of 153 youth needing temporary
emergency shelter service.
Several youth came to us neglected and abused and
was referred for addition support to the state
Department of Family and Children Service. It is
important to YAGC staff to complete case assessments
on these youth within a 14 day period of lodging.
Identifying a social summary, establishing long term
and short term goals, probing consumers circumstance
are all essential to good case management practice.
This stage of housing is considered as an
observation period. Staff will seek to get consumer
enroll in school or GED program, seek and obtain
employment for older youth, and agency can serve
state custody, runaways and homeless males ages 13-
21 years of age.
