IN-TAKE ASSESSMENT
At
first call for service, the agency staff determines
the level of care that will be provided by the
completion of a pre-application assessment,
identifying the problem and assessing the need to be
address by agency staff. In many cases the problem
can be solved by scheduling a family counseling
session with the parent and child, which is seldom
the case, and not as easy to establish a linkage.
Most service referral resources about 85 % are male
youth with no support system in place and come from
agencies, schools and churches from the Atlanta
area. The other 15% of our service calls come from
older men, women and children in need of emergency
assistance such as paying utility bills, seeking
family intervention, in need of emergency food
boxes, rent assistance and structured after school
programs for the children.
